Pope Francis and the Bell

IT HAPPENED TODAY

At this moment we are connected with Rovereto, in Trentino, where there is the large bell called "Maria Dolens", built in honour of the fallen of all wars and consecrated by Blessed Paul VI in 1965. Soon we will hear the tolling of that bell. May there never be wars again - never again wars! - but always the desire and commitment for peace and fraternity among peoples. (The words of Pope Francis after the Angelus of January 1, 2015 on the occasion of the XLVIII World Day of Peace).

Open continuously every day:

November to February: 9.00 - 16.30
March, October: 9.00 - 18.00
April to September: 9.00 - 19.00
Open Easter Sunday and Monday

Evening opening: : 16 June to 24 September for the ringing: 21:00-22:00

Last entry 30 minutes before closing time.

The bell rings every day at 8.30 pm standard time, at 9.30 pm summer time and every Sunday at 12 pm

To allow the safe carrying out of some extraordinary maintenance interventions, for which the use of earthmoving vehicles is envisaged, the monumental area of the Foundation is closed to the public on 3-4-5 April 2024.

On 6-7 April the Foundation will be open with the usual times, visiting methods and entrance fees.

For the day of Monday 8th only, to allow the completion of the preliminary works, the external monumental area will be closed again.

On days of partial closure, we also inform you that the main building will remain open to visitors with free entry during normal opening hours (9.00-19.00).
