Young Radio Amateurs for Maria Dolens. On Saturday and Sunday the Bell of the Fallen was one of the venues for the Italian amateur radio competition, with a dozen young and very young radio enthusiasts broadcasting from Miravalle over 24 hours. The event was organised by the Italian Amateur Radio association ARI, and had two aims: fun for young people, and spreading the name of Maria Dolens in Italy and further afield.
The young people were aged between 15 and 24 and from the Triveneto region. Trentino was represented by Martin Faraglia, 14, a student at the Marconi high school and one of the youngest radio operators, and Nicola, 17, from Cles. Within the national amateur radio contest, Rovereto was one of three YOTA (Youngsters on the Air) bases.
